Integrity is a human commitment
Technology changes what people can do. It does not change the obligation to describe one’s work honestly. The use of a tool is not inherently dishonest; misconduct begins with misrepresentation or the violation of a clearly established rule.
Clarity before consequences
Students, educators, and researchers deserve expectations they can understand before their work is evaluated. Institutions should say what is permitted, what must be disclosed, what is restricted, and what is prohibited.
Progress with responsibility
Education has always adopted better tools. AI and modern computing can increase academic capacity when their use is transparent, appropriate to the assignment, and aligned with institutional expectations.
